An art exhibition and interview with Tink Munro - broadcast live from the Feed radio booth.
Tink produced this body of work to explore her fascination with the Wood Wide Web whilst reinforcing the value of soil and how we treat it. Through repetitive mark-making, she builds a sense of movement within the artwork, revealing the life-giving energy that flows through the network hidden beneath the ground that supports our natural world. Each piece is screen-printed using a plant-based pigment that Tink has made through a process of mixing Indigo vegetable dye, a natural colorant, and Arabic gum, an organic binder. The combination of the two creates a deep crystallized Indigo, which shimmers when in the light. This natural mix also acts as a physical metaphor within the series, playing the role of Organic Matter. These designs are currently evolving into an immersive installation of animation and projection to achieve her overall goal of inspiring society to develop a greater connection with nature.
